About Me

My name is Angela McLeod. I am an equine veterinarian who also has extensive experience of riding horses. As well as over 10 years riding thoroughbred racehorses, I have competed in three day events to one star level, and worked in numerous dressage, showjumping, eventing and racing stables. I spent over a year in Germany recently and while there I believe I discovered the truth about riding!

I believe that the key to riding and training horses is having the knowledge to assess and improve upon the development of key muscle groups, thus enabling the horse to easily maintain the correct posture required to free up the back and allow a strong connection between the front and hind end and thereby effective communication between horse and rider.

My goal is to help more riders understand the great importance of some knowledge of anatomy and physiology to achieving their riding goals. I also believe a lot of vets would benefit in their diagnosis of lameness and performance issues if they could better apply their knowledge to the sport of riding.
